Reverend Dr. Zal V. Walton was born February 6, 1970, in Neptune, New Jersey. He was baptized at the age of seven. Rev. Dr. Walton was reared from birth in Union Baptist Church, Neptune, NJ. This is also where he accepted the calling on his life at the age of sixteen. On May 1, 1987, he preached his initial trial sermon. On October 2, 1988, Rev. Dr. Walton was ordained. Amazed at the hand of God moving in his life in the ministry, it was no surprise that he became the Shepherd of his first church at the age of nineteen years old.
Rev. Dr. Walton has a bachelor’s degree in Theology from Philemon Baptist College and is a graduate of the New York Theological Seminary. In 2018, he graduated from the United Theological Seminary with a dual master’s and doctorate degree in Biblical Studies.
Rev. Dr. Walton is a Professor at Hawthorn Community Bible College in Hawthorn, NJ, and became a board-certified Christian Counselor in 2019. He also serves as a member of the International Chaplains of NJ, a member of the Hampton Minister’s Conference and Founder of Second Chance Drug and Alcohol-Free Ministries.
Among Rev. Dr. Walton’s many gifts, he is a singer of the Gospel and a musician. He has sung with various Gospel artists, blessing people wherever he goes. “Beyond the Walls” is Rev. Dr. Walton’s challenge to the people of God. His outreach ministry includes: Street Evangelism, Discipleship Training/Seminars, and Musical Extravaganzas.
